Super Monkey Ball 651

Super Monkey Ball 651 is a Story Mode exclusive hack developed by scrap651 over the course of 3 1/2 years, with music produced by Jim Nopédie being included in the final version. That version, Super Monkey Ball 651 v1.1 has achieved critical acclaim, with scrap651 becoming a level designer in the fan-game Rolled Out! as a result. The game would also be featured by top creators such as Ludwig and Atrioc.

Early Development[]

On January 12, 2017, scrap651 would unveil his first custom level on his YouTube channel. Over the next 6 months, an additional 22 level would be publicly shown this way. An additional , bringing the total to :

As of the video showcase of Staircase, scrap claims in the description of the video that he has 86 levels left to create for his pack. This implies that scrap created 12 stages in-between Ring Attack and Staircase that were never shown off. 9 of these could be the stages that originate from Community Pack 1.0, but the other 3 are a mystery. Assuming all 12 do exist, and accounting for the 2 stages that originate from Community Pack 1.5, the total would be 38 stages.

scrap651's Level Pack (and the hiatus)[]

Somewhat of an anomaly in the development history of 651, scrap651 released a demo that's been lost to time on a release date that's also been lost to time. until further notice, no information on it exists

After Community Pack 1.5, scrap651 took a 1-year hiatus from any public showcase of new levels for unknown reasons.

Super Monkey Ball 651 - Pre-Release Videos[]

Starting on July 18, 2018, scrap would once again begin releasing preview videos for levels. Many of the world themes begin to take shape here, though they're all still far from completion sans the first world.

Super Monkey Ball 651 Teaser[]

Super Monkey Ball 651 Teaser is a demo pack created by scrap651 as the first playable beta for the game throughout its lengthy development. The stages are all located in Advanced and feature levels that appear in Worlds 1-9 in Super Monkey Ball 651. It was released on December 26, 2018.

As was partially known by this point from the World 10 levels showcased in videos, Super Monkey Ball 651's late-game is known for being notoriously difficult. Super Monkey Ball 651 v1.1[]

Exactly 1 year after 651 was completed in terms of levels, a quality-of-life and audio-visual overhaul of the game was released. The Story Mode Character Select patch by The BombSquad, visual updates such as scrolling textures and specular highlights, and custom music made in-part for the pack by Jim Nopédie were all added to the game.
