Super Monkey Ball Gaiden IL Tournament 2020 was a tournament focused on the successful custom level pack Super Monkey Ball Gaiden by Cutsman. The tournament lasted from July to September 2020.
Intro[]
Applications consisted of 5 levels (those being Safety Pipe, Kickflip, Ringfield, Perimeter, and Upstream) that must have been completed within the time limit. Players would submit their best times for each stage live, and the rankings would be averaged to determine seeding. 11 runners submitted their qualifying times and were seeded as such:

Structure[]
The tournament consisted of a double elimination bracket. Players would pick stages based on the stage pool for the round. Each player would receive bans based on wins or losses. Both players would then compete for the best time or score on the selected stage in the designated time. For the first game, a coin would be flipped. Higher seed would call the side. The loser of the coin flip would ban three stages from the pool. The winner of the coin flip would choose a remaining stage that wasn't banned. After the first stage, the bans would carry over. The winner of the stage bans three stages again, and the loser would choose a remaining stage. Matches consisted of a best of 5 format, with the exclusion of the Finals, which were best of 7.
